Review:

This book is a great tool for teaching children to turn to God and to trust Him when they are scared or do not know what to do. It is a great way for parents to teach children how to turn to God even when they do not feel like they are trusting Him. I was not too thrilled with the illustrations, but that is just my personal opinion and preference. It was not my style of artwork, though it is common from other books and might appeal to others. The story was nice, though I did not like how much Erik’s cousin teased him and made him believe bad things, causing undue fear, though it was a fear that drove him to faith. But though these were things I noticed that didn’t really appeal to me, and though I do not believe this is a book that I personally would purchase myself, I felt that author Jeannie St. John Taylor still wrote a good book that will be well liked by others and will appeal to them more than it does to me. It is definitely a book that each person has to check out on their own before deciding if it is right for their families.
