Review:
I have only had the opportunity to read and review one of Amanda Cox’s books in the past, but I loved it. I typically prefer to choose historical fiction over contemporary, but Cox has a style that draws me in. So I was pleased to see she had a new books releasing and was eager to see what it offered. And I can say I was not disappointed. I found myself once more drawn in to the story and carried along from page to page on the wings of emotion and faith. I think one of the things I enjoy most about reading Amanda Cox’s books is that the characters are always so down to earth and relatable. I can picture each person she creates and connect with them. Their lives, their emotions, and their experiences are normal, like any one of us might go through ourselves. She does a great job of creating fictional characters that you could believe were real. Not only do you see them in their good times and ideal settings, but you see their flaws, their failures, their struggles and it all feels so natural. That is true talent as a writer, in my opinion. Such talent is hard to find, but Amanda Cox is easily among some of the best at character creation and development. I will be honest – I am not sure what I think of the bird watching aspect. It definitely added a little more to the story. But I think the story could have been fine without it. Regardless, the story was interesting. I enjoyed how it played out and the growth the characters made, plsu the connections and relationships that developed. This was an excellent book and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an honest, emotional, relatable Christian fiction story.
