1 Corinthians 16:13 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.
We learned yesterday that we were never promised a life of ease and comfort as believers. Today we are reminded to stand firm in our faith, to be strong and courageous in the face of the trials we face. We know the enemy is out to steal, kill, and destroy. We were told earlier in the month to take up the shield of faith to defend against those attacks, and we know that we can trust Him to be with us, to be our strength in weakness.
Stand strong, my friends. We are conquerors and can overcome the woes of the world through our faith in Him. Be watchful and don’t give in to the old, sinful patterns you experienced prior to believing in God. Put aside those childish ways, the ways of the world that seek self glorification and self gratification and instead seek His ways. His ways are better and offer us peace and joy.
Be alert. Watch for the attacks we know are coming. Be cognizant of the attacks of the enemy and do not give him a foothold in your life. Trust in God to be your strength. That strength comes from knowing His will, His ways. Trust in the truth of the gospel that brings us life everlasting and be resolute in spirit in the face of adversity.
Live out your faith with courage and full confidence in the Lord Who saves. Do not let fear sway you or distract you in your walk. Live a life that is worthy of Him and know that you are never alone and never will be. Embrace your faith today and continue to grow each and every moment of every day. We are victorious. Believe it.
