Chronicles 15:7 But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.

Today’s verse is written to King Asa and the people of Judah. It was given to them by the prophet Azariah and came at a time when there had been a decline in spiritual beliefs as well as a time of hardship for the people. There was more to the message than just this one verse, so it is a good idea to pause and read that first.

Azariah’s words were probably welcome to the ears of the people of Judah since they are words of encouragement and not judgment or prophetic hardship to come. They had been struggling for a while, so the encouragement was timely for this nation. The words were spoken directly to King Asa and urged him to be strong and not give up. Perseverance would be rewarded.

The key was to remain steadfast in their faith, boldly standing strong against whatever hardships and challenges came their way.  Azariah urged King Asa to seek the Lord and follow His commands.

And the same is true for us today. We should remember that we, too, stand boldly and bravely, confident in the face of hardship (Philippians 4:13). We must seek the Lord and follow His commands just as King Asa did so long ago. Love God with everything you have in you and love others. Seek His will for your life. And trust in His faithfulness. We need to persevere. Don’t give up! And know that reward is coming.

Stand strong, friend. Do not give up no matter how hard things may seem. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. Turn to Him and let His strength fill you today.
