Sometimes it is hard to understand what is going on in our world or in our own lives. We look at these events and wonder why we are going through what we are going through. We question how God could allow injustice, atrocities, and evil to flourish as it does.
But then we receive a word from Him, a reminder that there is a purpose. We may not understand it or see how there can be beauty in these things, but He reminds us that He is the Master creator, the Artist who can paint beauty from the undesirable. He makes everything beautiful in its time, not in our time. His timing.
In addition, we have an internal need for something more, something long-lasting, something eternal. We desire meaning and purpose in our lives. As believers we should be turning to God to receive these things. We see in today’s verse that He sets eternity in our hearts. He alone gives us true and lasting satisfaction, purpose, and meaning. He fulfills all of our needs.
When times seem heavy or tumultuous, turn to Him and trust that He has a purpose for what is taking place. Don’t try to control what is going on or make sense of it. Wait and see what He has planned, how it will unfold, and trust that He makes everything beautiful in its time. Our human minds cannot grasp the infinite scope of His plans, but that doesn’t mean He is not working or that it cannot be made into something more.
Today take a few moments to pause and talk with God about what is going on around you or in your life. Talk to Him and trust Him to make things beautiful. Trust that His plan, even if you don’t understand it, is better than you can ever dream. Know that He is working out His purpose in the background and is making things beautiful in HIS timing. Just have faith and wait.
