Devotion: Isaiah 25:1

April 22, 2025

Isaiah 25:1 Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago.

Our Lord is truly an amazing God and One worthy of all our praise. He is a loving Father who gave His perfect Son to be the sacrifice needed to pay for our sins. His plan of redemption was put in place long before any of us even existed and He has faithfully provided for us ever since. His faithfulness is perfect, beyond anything we could ever imagine or understand.

Isaiah begins with a personal declaration – You are my God. If you have never made Him Lord of your life, today is the day to accept Jesus as the Savior of your soul. Admit you are a sinner and in need of a Savior and ask Jesus to be your salvation. Once you do you, too, can have a personal relationship with Him and can join in this declaration that He is our God.

As a result of our salvation we place our hope in Him, our Lord who does wonderful things in perfect faithfulness. Praise will naturally flow from you in gratitude for what He has done. We will praise Him for the wonderful blessings He rains down upon us, starting with His grace and mercy. We will exalt Him for His faithfulness and the blessings we receive, as well as the rough times that become testimonies of His goodness.

And do not forget to praise Him for His plans for each of us. His plans existed before we did and He faithfully carries each one out. And He does so in pure perfection. We can place our hope in Him and what He says He will do because He has always been faithful in fulfilling His promises. He has planned every day of our lives, orchestrated every event we face, and we praise Him for leading us along His path.

Meditate on this verse, today. Make it your personal prayer to Him. He is our God, our perfectly faithful Lord.
