Devotion: Job 19:25

August 25, 2024

Job 19:25  I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth.

This verse may seem out of place amongst all of the verses on anxiety, but this is one that can give great hope and encouragement. The book of Job has a lot of back and forth discussion and can be confusing, but then you get these little nuggets of truth that shine brighter than the rest and make you stop. And when you realize it applies to so many life situations, you realize just how amazing our God is to reveal His truth to us in so many ways.

Job suffered a great deal. He lost everything. Even his wife told him to curse God and die already. His friends came to support him but ended up blaming his troubles on his sins. Job just couldn’t win.

And maybe that is how you feel today. Like life is just too much, everyone is out to get you, you don’t understand WHY you are going through what you are…

Job had an unshakeable faith in God. He clung to the hope that God was alive and there and in the end would once again stand upon the earth.

Do you know the Redeemer, the living God, our Lord of Lords and King of Kings? Do you have a relationship with God that honors and serves Him? If you don’t, please reach out – whether to me, to another Christian, a church… find someone who can answer your questions and help you meet Jesus.

We may not understand why we are going through what we are going through, but God has a plan (Jeremiah 29:11) and He will always be there with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you (Psalms 94:14). He loves you and wants to be with you. Take hope in that promise. Our Redeemer lives!
