Jude 1:24 To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy…
We begin this month with a promise that should give you great encouragement.. This final section in the book of Jude is called a doxology. It is a short hymn that praises God. In this case the whole doxology is: To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy – to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power, and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.
In this doxology we see that it is God who keeps us from stumbling and He presents us faultless and with great joy. Jude is speaking of Jesus in this passage. It is Him, not man, that holds us up, protects us, keeps us from stumbling, all so we can be presented without fault. We are purified, made holy, a new creation (John 10:28-30; Philippians 1:6). And He not only presents us as holy and righteous heirs, but He does it with great joy. That should give you encouragement!
As fallible humans, we are going to stumble. All have sinned and fall short (Romans 3:23), but we don’t have to stay down or struggle if we fix our eyes on Him. And we are then presented to God, blameless, pure, righteous – with great joy.
I can only imagine what it will be like when we are presented, how the joy that is felt when He presents us fills us as well. Why? Because how could we NOT feel the same joy when we are presented to our Father?
