Devotion: Mark 11:24

June 17, 2025

Mark 11:24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

We are encouraged to pray daily, hourly, moment by moment. We are told to pray without ceasing. And while this may seem impossible to do, it is not telling us that every moment of our lives should be spent engaged in prayer, but rather that our prayer should be the natural response to everything in our lives. Whether you are asking God for help, praising Him for His faithfulness and the things He has done for you, or lifting our voices in worship, our faith should be lived in a prayerful manner, a life of total dependence on Him.

Prayer is our way of demonstrating our faith in God. It is our response to Him, our means of communicating, our lifeline. We pray with absolute faith in Him to hear us and to respond. We don’t receive the answer we seek every time we pray, but He always responds. He always hears us and He faithfully responds to each and every prayer. We need to understand that sometimes those answers come in unexpected ways, and sometimes those results may turn out to be a no. But regardless of the response, we continue to seek Him and exercise faith.

Focus on God’s will in your prayers. Depend on Him to be your strength and to lead you through whatever you may be facing. He has a plan, a plan to prosper you and not to harm you. He will provide a way out when the way seems impossible, because we know, we believe, we have faith that all things are possible with Him. Prayers that align with His will are more likely to give us the response we hope for because they are prayers of faith that depend on Him and His ways, not our own.

Today, focus on praying in faith. Thank Him for the answers, even before you know what they are. Trust in His response, His provision, and let Him guide your steps. Demonstrate your faith in God by seeking Him with all your heart, mind, and soul. And believe in His loving response.
