Devotion: Psalm 31:24

March 3, 2025

Psalm 31:24 Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.

Yesterday we learned that the Lord would do what is good in His sight. Today we hear from David and are reminded to trust in God.  During his lifetime, David faced many trials and opposition. He spent a lot of time fleeing from his enemies and hiding in caves. But despite all of that, he still had hope in the Lord. He still turned to Him and gave Him his all. He continued to trust in God because he knew He had rescued him in the past and would carry him through his future battles and challenges.

Our own lives are full of opposition and challenges, too. But we can trust in Him because it is Him that we place our hope. And He is faithful. He loves us and wants what is best for us. He is our strength and it is in Him that we find our confidence. He will carry us through whatever we have going on in our lives (Joshua 1:9).

So how can we be brave and take heart? What can we do to stand firmly and bravely when trials hit? We do it with God. He fights our battles for us. He is with us always. He will never leave us or forsake us. We turn to Him in prayer and seek His guidance in all we do. We can’t do it on our own. It is with Him that we are conquerors.

Don’t let the trials of life get you down. Turn to Him and His wonderful power and let Him be your strength. Be strong and take heart. And place your hope in Him.
