Each session within the course can be read as stand alone lessons, though it is intended to be read in its entirety. It is worth spending time reading through each session before you run it. Try and read through any bible verses and have a go at answering any questions yourself – before you begin to share and face questions and/or disbelief and challenges. You will find life a lot easier if you are prepared.

Within each session consider the following:

Aims and Objectives
Every session has an aim and objectives. These will hopefully give you an idea of where things are going.

Beforehand
If there is anything special (excluding photocopying handouts) that you need to do before the session you will find the details here. Only two sessions have a ‘Beforehand’ preparation requirement. However, to get the best out of the course it is worth spending some time going through each session and trying to think how discussions may develop. Doing this will help you keep one step ahead and avoid getting too sidetracked!

Warming Up
There are various ‘Warming Up’ activities ranging from the ‘Read it and weep’ variety to the ‘do we really have to get up and do this’ type. I’ll let you work out which are which. These activities generally have something to do with the rest of the session and often set the scene for what is coming later.

Over To You
When having discussions listen to the person you are sharing with.

The Biblical Perspective
Better than calling it a ‘Bible Study’ really.

Pulling It Together
This bit gives some ideas on how to sum up and draw the session to a close. You will probably find that you ignore this bit and sum up based on what has been said by the group, but you can’t say I didn’t try.
