This was another book that I found myself unable to put down and read in a little over a day. I simply couldn’t put it down! This was my first book from author Gabrielle Meyer and I am now looking at picking up the previous books in the series because I enjoyed this one so much. The dual timelines and the lives Kathryn lived in both of them fascinated me. I have never read a time travel book like this before and was very impressed with the creativity in how Meyer designed it. It also fascinated me with the mystery surrounding Jack the Ripper and the main character’s younger sister being one of the victims. I found myself researching the history as I went along because it made me wonder and I couldn’t stop thinking of the story. It was well done in regard to historical accuracy. I also appreciated Meyer’s author’s note at the end of the book that explained the history and how she integrated it, as well as which parts were her own creations. The writing style drew me in immediately and captivated me as I turned each page. As I said, I couldn’t stop reading and was done with the story within a day’s time. I can’t wait for the next book in the series and am eager for the previous books to arrive since I immediately ordered them after completing this book. Such a testament to the skill author Gabrielle Meyer has! I also appreciated the faith that Kathryn and her family had. It is always refreshing to see a book that includes a trust and dependence on God without it being the primary focus. Overall, this was an amazing story that was full of creativity and unexpected twists. It goes without saying that I highly recommend it!
