Review:

It’s Here! It’s Here! The First Major VeggieTales Motion Picture!!!!

I’m 26 and I LOVE VeggieTales! The songs are cute and catchy. The characters are likable and sometimes lovable! Who doesn’t like the French Peas??!! (Steak and Shrimp! Steak and Shrimp! Eat It Need It!) Being a Movie Critic like I am, I had to watch this movie very critically and you know….The WHOLE family WILL enjoy this movie! It is a superb funny movie with a GREAT Christian message.

The movie is based upon the story of Jonah and the big fish. Jonah, be God’s messenger, goes town to town bringing God’s messages to the people. Then one day, God tells Jonah to take a message to Nineveh. Jonah is NOT happy about this because in Nineveh, they slap each other with fish. What’s an asparagus to do? Well He can always team up with Pa Grape, Mr. Lunt, and Larry Cucumber for an adventure on the high seas! That’s exactly what he does until a storm comes upon them and Jonah’s new friends decide it is because God is angry with someone on board, so Jonah feeling guilty walks the plank and well you know the rest.

I enjoyed this movie from beginning to the end, from the characters to the music. It was a great delight to see a kids movie that carried such a great message of Mercy and Compassion because in this day of school shootings and other youth violence, kids need to learn and understand these two basic and important ideals and the VeggieTales crew does it with flying colors!
