Matthew 11:28

by Travis Garrett

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

I don’t know about you, but a lot of times in my life, I allow school, homework, extracirricular activities, church events, and friends burden me down. I try to push myself really hard, too hard sometimes. I start about worrying about everything thats going on. I don’t know about you, but that explains my life a good part of the time. When I see this verse though it reminds me that its stupid to get worked about stuff when God is on our side. He tells us to cast our burdens on Him and He’ll lighten the load. He’ll take off some of the stuff we’re carrying around so that we’ll have an easier time, and He says He’ll give us rest. A comforting thought in a world thats always hurrying to somewhere. Its good to know that our Father will be with us and will be there to just let us take a rest every now and then. There’s only thing that you have to do to get His rest. You have to trying to do it on your own and come to Him. You have to swallow your pride, and let God know you can’t do it on your own. He’s waiting and willing to help, if you’ll only come to find His peace and His rest. I highly encourage you to swallow your pride if this has described you. Just give it up, you will do no good trying to do it on your own. Drop everything and run to Him.
