Review:

I have read only one other Melody Carlson book at this point, but enjoyed it very much. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to read and review another and jumped right in, despite it being nowhere near Christmas when I started it. And I found it to be a cute story that is well written and in the same style as the previous book I read. I love the Christmas theme and all that comes with the holidays (Christmas holidays and traditions are my favorites!), so instantly connected with this story. It was a shorter read than some of the other books I have read latelly, so I was able to knock it out in a few hours. But oh what a lovely few hours it was! The story was simple, yet had plot twists and surprises I wasn’t expecting and did not predict. It made for a pleasant read since it was unexpected. I wasn’t sure how I felt about the main character Carol at first. Anyone who dislikes Christmas must have something wrong, right? But I watched her grow and change as things went on and by the end of the book she had made huge leaps and bounds in character development. I won’t spoil anything by talking about it here, but the overall plot flowed smoothly and quickly in a story arc that is truly memorable.  If you enjoy Christmas books or are looking for a short Christmas read for the holiday seasons, look no further than this sweet book. You won’t be disappointed.
