The last book I read by author Irene Hannon had me on the edge of my seat. But this book was even better! I didn’t think it could get better than the previous book, but Hannon proved me wrong and whipped out an incredible suspense that had me captivated. I found myself reading long into the night and finished the entire thing in a super short time. It was a thrilling page turner that lodged itself deep in my mind and had me trying to predict what would happen next. I never did get it right, which made the story all the more fascinating to me. Being book three in the series, this is the finale and I am sad to see it end. But boy, did she end on a high note with this one! If you are a fan of Hannon or a fan of suspense, this is a must read. It can be read as a stand alone without having to read the previous two books in the series, but I do believe it adds to the overall appeal if you do. As for the plot itself, the addition of historical aspects adds a new element to her writing that the previous books did not have. Being a history buff, I loved the inclusion of historical details. The characters were well developed and realistic, making them easy to relate to. I love the fact that Hannon also includes elements of faith throughout her books without it feeling like you are being preached at. All of this combined makes for a very appealing, riveting book that I thoroughly enjoyed reading and highly recommend.
