Review:

I know firsthand what it is like to be an overweight child and adult. I also know my ear having been there as a child that my own children will face the same things I did. And I cannot stand the thought of it. I was thrilled to see a book addressing this problem. Dr. Linda Mintle has provided a much-needed resource for parents of today. Parents need to be aware of childhood obesity as well as what they can do to help their children become healthier, happier adults. Within this book are excellent resources that can help you guide your kids in to developing a healthy body image, not one based on society’s nearly impossible standards, how to discover self worth based on God’s love, and dealing with teasing and negative comments. This resource gives parents the support they need to be able to help their children accept the body God has given them as well as how to make wise choices regarding health and diet. Parents need to read this book and help their kids rather than harming them by telling them they need to lose weight. There are many ways to address childhood obesity and this book shows parents how.
