I found Perilous Tides to be a thrilling read! I was quickly pulled into the story and was unable to put it down once I was hooked. I read the book in about a day’s worth of time, which tells you it was amazing! I did not read the first book in the series, but am planning to go back and read it when I have some free time (between all the other books I read). I had no trouble following the story, so it is fine to read as a stand alone book, so if you missed the first book like I did you will still be able to understand what is going on. Though this story was not from my typical preferred genre of reading choices, I found myself devouring it hungrily. The skill of author Elizabeth Goddard was demonstrated through the suspenseful, thrill packed words of each page. The characters were well developed and you saw their growth from the beginning of the book through the end, making you able to not only picture what was going on, but also to feel what they were feeling. The plot twists were fantastic, adding an element of thrill and suspense that kept your heart pounding as you sat on the edge of your seat wondering what would happen next. The romance unfolded naturally throughout the story without being the main focus or a distracting element and added to the overall plot nicely. I always love reading books that include faith and trust in God, so it was refreshing to see a clean, faith based story. It was a great read and I enjoyed it immensely. I am eager to read the first book when I can and can’t wait to see what comes next from such a talented author!
