Makers of the Left Behind Movies

Founder & CEO Cloud Ten PicturesT4JYM: Where did the idea for Cloud Ten Pictures come from? What motivated you to start something of this nature?

PL: Paul and I have always been film buffs. Paul’s favorite movies are Memento and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Mine are Raiders of the Lost Ark and Crimson Tide. Our goal is to make faith-based films that are every bit as exciting and well produced as these films. But like everything else, it takes time and perseverance. I think our new movie LEFT BEHIND II: Tribulation Force is the best combination of quality and Christian message that has been produced to date.

T4JYM: How has your work been received by the public? Do you receive positive feedback from the public?

PL: The feedback has been tremendous. People have watched Cloud Ten Pictures’ growth into the leading faith-based film studio in the world. It just goes to show what the Lord can do if you just put your hand to the plow, have faith and work at it. We love to hear from people whose lives have been changed by our films.

T4JYM: How do other production companies view your work? Do you ever get any feedback from secular film agencies?

PL: Yes. The response has actually been very positive because even the large players are beginning to recognize how large the Christian community is.

T4JYM: How has working with the Left Behind storyline impacted your company? What made you decide to take this on as a project?

PL: This is the greatest outreach opportunity in the history of Christian filmmaking. Paul and I feel tremendous responsibility to the project. The spiritual obligation is so large and that is why we are glad we started small and worked up to this. As we were on the set of LEFT BEHIND II: Tribulation Force witnessing the powerful scenes where Buck (Kirk Cameron) and Rayford Steele (Brad Johnson) share their new found faith, we knew that we had been called into the kingdom to produce movies like this.

T4JYM: Who are some of the people you have worked with and what were your thoughts of them?

PL: I love the cast of the LEFT BEHIND series. Every one of them is a delight to work with. It is great to see people who have come to the top of their field and yet who remain as down to earth and caring as they all are. I am blown away by the faith of Kirk Cameron and his wife Chelsea Noble. They are as big of an inspiration as anyone I’ve ever met.

T4JYM: Do you have any advice to give to the youth of this world?

PL: Have faith. Let God plant a dream in your heart and follow it with all your passion, might and faith. If you are open to the Lord’s leading, you will have an impact on this world beyond anything you’ve ever dreamed of!
