Reflecting on September: Call to Revolution

by Alex Haynes

Last September (2001), we offered our first edition of Teens4Jesus Magazine. Eleven days into the month of September, something rocked the Nation of The United States and by many it has been forgotten, but by most it is reflected. America has spoken the words, “God Bless America!” over and over again… noticing that our country was founded on the beliefs that God exists, and without God and a fresh vision, people perish.

2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Many have changed their ways since September 11th, 2001, and many have not. It’s also interesting to see statistics and how emotionally driven we American people are. After September 11th, 2002, the following Sunday (09/16/2002), church attendance hit an all-time high in churches all around the country. One month later, church attendance was back to usual, with maybe a few retained, or even lower, than what it was before September 11th. Does the answer lie within the church? As Christians we must stand firm and be strong. When there are problems and things that happen within the world, as Christians we should know enough to be able to pray and receive an answer or take time to study our Bible… (God given word)… and reply with an answer as Jesus did.

Here is a quote: “I’m 60 years old and I’ve never seen my nation repent. There possibly was some repentance after Pearl Harbor, but I was not old enough to remember. I’ve seen a consistent degeneration in this nation all my life. This repenting that I’m seeing among fellow Americans is very exciting and God’s hand is all over it. No one can repent except God grants it.”

TEENAGERS!!!!: Will we not be the one’s to lead the way? For the last 2 years, the cry of my youth group and many others here in the Metro-Atlanta area is the following:

Isaiah 64:2-3 Oh, that you would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains would tremble before you! As when fire sets twigs ablaze and causes water to boil, come down to make your name known to your enemies and cause the nations to quake before you!

I know that this article is a little long… but we’ve got to know! Now is the time to worship and change our generation! We’ve got to pray more than we ever have before. This is a call and cry to Revolution! Demoniational barriers don’t matter… Isaiah 64 should be the cry of your heart!!!

Proclaim… then RULE your school, neighborhood, job and everything else for the Glory of God!
