Sharing Your Story

When you go out to share your faith you may run across people who want to argue with you. They may say “That isn’t true. It is a bunch of fairy tale jargon,” and dismiss you without a second thought. The best way to have an impact in sharing is to share with them something they cannot argue, your testimony. This article serves as a guide to helping you learn to share your own personal story of how God has changed your life.

Your testimony is your personal story of how God has made a difference in your life. No one can argue that with you and no one can change it. It is YOUR story and it has a powerful impact on people when you share it with them.

Revelation 12:11 And THEY OVERCAME HIM (satan) because of the blood of the Lamb and because of THE WORD OF THEIR TESTIMONIES and they did not love their life even to death.
(caps mine) (NIV Translation)

Our testimonies are powerful and they can overcome Satan. That means that you can share your testimony with a person in a chatroom, via email, in a messenger program, however you choose, and they can be lost and in need, and upon hearing your testimony they can see that they are lost and in need and can turn to Jesus to supply all their needs in His richness and glory. Thus Satan is overcome. Your testimony may be of drugs and alcohol, of addiction, of sexual sin, of theft, of greed, of lying, anything and you may be sharing with someone who is currently struggling in that same area. Your words can give them the power necessary to overcome, to break those bonds of sin and to give their lives to Jesus so that HE can be their strength to get through.

So now that you know there is power in the words of your testimony, how do you use that?
