Review:

Shine is a beautiful book with a powerful message. I wish I had read a book like this when I was in high school, that I had even HAD a book like this in high school. There is no time like those high school years for girls, when the pressures o being “beautiful” are so extreme and unrealistic… Girls in high school NEED books like this one. They need the reminder that they have great beauty externally. We forget that God made us the way He wanted us. He created each of us and He sees us as beautiful. Aly Hawkins tackles the issue of self esteem in this amazing, short, hard-hitting book. She guides readers into a  way of thinking that is foreign to a beauty obsessed world and shows everyone what real beauty is – as God sees it. So open your eyes to what God has blessed you with and be reed from the chains that society has bound you in. This is a great book to read and discuss in a small group setting. A must for Christian youth!
