Review:

My high school years spent many an hour with the great composers, being a band student. So… this was a book that evoked many a memory for me as I saw names o composers o music I played over that period of time. When the book arrived and I saw the title I assumed the composers would be ones that had written simply Christian music only. I was surprised to see that instead it covered the lives of the great composers of classic music, the big names people do not associate with Christianity. I found it very interesting seeing the lives of these men who made such a big impact on the music of our world. I was introduced to some of the composers whose music I love but which I did not know much about their lives. I was thrilled to see the deep spiritual roots within these greats’ lives and the life that inspired them to create such beautiful and moving music. It is amazing to see the passion within a person manifest itself in their music. This was a great book. I really enjoyed this book and learned a great deal from reading it.
