Review:

This series has captivated me. I simply cannot get enough of Gabrielle Meyer’s books. After finishing this book, which was the third book in the series I have read, I hopped on Amazon and was thrilled to find her books in Kindle Unlimited. I am  now reading through the series from book one up to where I have already read. Her attention to detail in each book is impressive. I cannot imagine the amount of research that goes into writing in multiple time periods. In this book, we get to see lives set in 1883 in the United States and 1563 in England. I love that Meyer has no problem using real life people to interact with her fictional characters. And each character is well developed and comes to life before your eyes as you read deeper into the story. I loved how this book had multiple time travelers rather than just one. It was an interesting twist on the story that added new elements and layers to the plot. This book was a little predictable on some levels, but still had other plot twists I didn’t see coming and loved once they played out. What impresses me about these books is the fact that you can pick up any book and read it and understand what is going on. They can all be read as standalone books and make perfect sense. The talent Meyer has for storytelling is amazing. I can’t imagine how she comes up with these stories. And how she keeps it straight with the complexity of characters who time travel… So impressive! I love when you can see the connections between the characters from previous books and see them interact with the current characters or have them referenced. Such talent from Meyer! If you like historical fiction this is a must read. And the touch of romance in it is natural and not forced, adding a nice element to the story without overtaking it. So good!
