Review:

When reading through this book I realized how true this is in today’s day and age. So many people are working longer and longer hours to make ends meet or to provide things that they think their families need. It is something that kids can relate to, seeing it in their own homes as families get busier and busier. James, William’s son, wants to spend time with his dad more than anything. He would give up all the things his dad works or – the toys, the big vacations, everything – just to swim with him or play games. And in the end, he finds the way to show his dad that he needs to be a part of the family instead of just providing for them. It makes me happy to see that a children’s book has a message for parents as well as for children. Hopefully its message will be heard by all, and all will see the importance of being a member of the family. It is a wonderful lesson for any who reads it or hear the story and one well worth hearing. This was another great story in the Little Lots series.
