Your Calling

By: Mandy Hughett

Have you ever felt that you were called by God to do something-but when you told people you they just turned down all possibilities of it? The people you tell think it will just be wasting your life?

I can be the first to say that it has happened to me numerous times. I will be in prayer and get this awesome message of what God wants me to do-but when I tell people-parents-friends…they just think I would be wasting my life. They tell me that its not reality to think I can do some of the things I know God wants me to do. They tell me this and they bring up other possibilities and tons of excuses to why I shouldn’t do it that at times-I feel that I didn’t hear that message from God and that I guess I shouldn’t do it after all.

Have you ever had that happen to you? If so, I want you to be encouraged. If you think God is calling you to do something-do it. If everyone else turns you down and says its worthless-do not listen to them. But pray for them. Ask God to show them a sign that this calling is FOR REAL. If you are meant to “waste” your life…then good news. You are wasting it for Christ! That’s a GOOD thing. No matter what people tell you – if you are living for God-you are doing the right thing. Spend lots of time in prayer when you are in doubt about your calling. God has a plan for each and every one of us. You better believe Satan will try to interfere with this plan – because its Satan. That’s what he does! But remember, God is stronger then Satan any day. And your plan is real. You have a purpose. There is a reason you are here. Pray-and when you find out what your purpose is-follow it. Follow God and never give up on your God-given dreams.

To end this, I would like to give you some scripture.

Matthew 6:33, “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

Deuteronomy 8:3, He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.

Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
