Review:
This is not the first book I have read from Patricia Bradley, and it will definitely not be the last. I love the fact that she writes clean, Godly Christian fiction and that I can sit and read through an exciting suspense story without having to worry about sex or profanity. I also like the way she writes – fast paced, lots of detail, but nothing that is overwhelming, predictable, or hard to believe. The suspense started with a mystery and built quickly from there. I did not guess who the villain was and then realized how many clues I had missed all along. Love that it was hinting at a specific person, yet I missed it entirely. The level of romance within the story was good, too. Very balanced between romance and suspense. One did not overshadow the other and both elements shared the spotlight. Though I prefer historical fiction, this was a treat to read because it was so full of action, adventure, mystery, and suspense that I couldn’t get it out of my head. Bradley creates compelling storylines and well thought out and developed characters. As a woman I appreciate seeing a strong female lead as the heroine of the story. As a believer, I appreciate having a clean read that is not overly preachy. Within this story you could clearly see the themes of greed and forgiveness, as well as Biblical views that naturally fit into the story. This is book five in the series and could easily be read as a standalone novel, but I do recommend going in order. I am anxious to see what is coming next from Bradley and whether this series will continue or if it is finished.  Overall, this was a treat to read and kept me quite entertained and engaged.
