Amendment I of the United States Constitution states:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

How lucky we are to have our very own government give us the right to religious freedom? But, do we take it for granted? On Thanksgiving, how many times have you thanked God for your religious freedom? Have you thought about the people who lived under the Taliban in Afghanistan? Those women weren’t even given human rights, let alone religious rights.
How can we take them for granted you ask? We do not think twice about how lucky we are that we can stroll into church on a Sunday morning. Often, some of us come late, and some don’t even go at all? Some people dread waking up early to have to go to church. If those Christians in countries without religious freedoms could have the ability to go, they’d be so happy!
If the Christians that live in other countries could even have the simple right to be able to read a Bible in their own home, or to even own one, it’d make a world of difference to them.
Could you imagine life without your Bible? Without church? Without legally knowing God? Next time you don’t want to go to church, just think of how fortunate you are to have the ability to go. Little Suzy over in another country isn’t able to!
