T4HYM: Can you share a short testimony with our readers?

KP: I was raised by an Italian Catholic Dad and southern Protestant Mom and went to Dutch Reformed Christian School and mass on Sundays! I moved to LA to be a “trophy wife” and famous actress and God did give me some Hollywood success but I wasn’t happy. I decided to find out more about this “walking the walk ” thing and found this little Four Square Church and started attending. It changed my whole life and career path entirely. Now I feel directly employed to do God’s work, on and off stage.

T4HYM: When and how did you accept Christ into your heart?

KP: I always loved Jesus but I didn’t know for sure I was going to Heaven until I was about 25 and started to really pursue a relationship with God and see His plans for my life. I found out He truly loves me unconditionally, no matter how many movies or TV shows I do. He’s more concerned about my heart.

T4HYM: Please share with us how your got started in comedy.

KP: I’ve been acting since I was a kid and toured in musicals. When I came to LA I wanted to be a “good girl” and not compromise my morals. The closer I got with God the less I felt I could do in Hollywood. That is when I got into stand up comedy where I could write my own material and be clean!

T4HYM: What advice would you give to the aspiring singer/musician/entertainers?

KP: Don’t give up! But you have to really know in your soul this is God ‘s call for your life because it’s soooooooooo hard! There are too many people that would do anything to succeed and they are cut throats in this arena. It’s a mission field and you have to have thick skin and a definite call on your life to stay in the game. Also get prayer covering for sure!

T4HYM: Do you find it strange to hear yourself singing on the radio or to see yourself in a video?

KP: I laugh…mom brags about seeing me on TV at bridge. They get a kick out of it…so it’s fun for me.

T4HYM: What kind of relationship do you maintain with your audiences? Do youFellowship with them? Or do you remain distant as the performer?

KP: Ha! Before I was married I thought I’d meet my husband in one of my audiences!!! But I met him at a show, doing comedy. He’s a comedian. I love hearing from fans on my website or meeting them at shows.

T4HYM: What is the main focus in your ministry? Teens? The lost? The hurting?

KP: People who are in need of a laugh. It can be so healing to laugh and also I want the world to know we Christians get crazy too. We run with scissors! We have Lock Ins without supervision! I go to the shows God tells me too…clubs, bars, churches, schools…it changes daily.

T4HYM: Do you ever worry about getting caught up in the world of show biz? That success will change you?

KP: That success will change you? I’ve been in the biz for a long time so I know how it really works. I look at it sadly now. So many people are unhappy and I just hope I can make a difference and do God’s will. Being on TV or film just helps me reach more people.

T4HYM: Who, or what, are your biggest influences?

KP: Carol Burnett and Friends, Lucille Ball, Tracey Ullman.

T4HYM: What is the latest news? Any new CD’s to be released soon?

KP: I am a recent published author with Zondervan Publishing, set to re-release my book, “If I Am Waiting On God Then What Am I Doing In The Christian Chatroom? Confessions Of A Do It Yourself Single” in early January 2006. I also will have a new comedy CD coming out soon.

T4HYM: Do you have a website that people could visit…anything you’d like to advertise? Now’s your chance!

KP: You can find information on my book and CD @ www.kerripom.com It’s a book not just for girls but guys too..anyone who’s been single and thinks it sucks! We can all use a good laugh about it! Also our CD is very dear to my heart..”Comedy Without Compromise!” We believe we have to compete on the highest level and this CD is one I’m really proud of

T4HYM: Do you have any advice to give to the youth of our world?

KP: You can do anything you set your mind to…. Hollywood…Nashville…Science…or whatever. Just make sure it’s something you feel in your heart God is supporting you in!  You only get one chance on this earth, what do you want God to say to you about what you’ve done with your time?
