Proverbs 16:3 Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.
Surrendering our plans to the Lord should be a natural response for us as believers. We should make the effort to commit everything we do to the Lord and let Him work in us and through us.
But we should also remember that just because we commit our plans to Him, it is not a guarantee that we will get our way. Our plans need to be in alignment with His will for our lives. Sometimes the things we want are not His will for our lives and we need to understand this and be accepting of it.
The good thing to remember, though, is that we are far more likely to succeed if we surrender than if we try to go it alone.
The Hebrew word for commit is literally translated as “to roll.” We are going to roll with the punches, in essence. We are deeply and wholeheartedly depending upon Him to help us. Success comes when our plans are dependent upon Him and align with His will for our lives. Our plans that we commit to Him should glorify His name and point others to Him. And we trust that He will work in our lives, knowing He has always been faithful and loves us and wants the best for us.
Today let’s remember that we have a responsibility of committing all we do to the Lord. And have faith in Him to do the second part of establishing our plans. This process of give and take is all dependent upon us first surrendering to His will so that He CAN work. Try it and see how faithful He is to work in our lives.
