Colossians 2:6-7 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
As we conclude this month we are given a verse that serves as a reminder to hang in there and keep making choices that will help you grow in your faith. We have had many lessons this month in ways we can do that, the benefits of faithfulness, as well as returned to the foundation our faith is built upon – His death and resurrection and what it means for us.
And today’s verse again emphasizes that relationship with Christ and what our response should be. If you do not have a personal relationship with Jesus, today is the day to change that. Find someone who can help you pray if you don’t know what to say or how to talk to Him. But make that commitment and then begin to build your faith more and more each day as you seek Him and His ways. Let Him be the Master of your life, the Comforter in times of need, your strength in weakness. Experience the joy that fills you as you grow closer to Him each day. And overflow with thanksgiving as you see His mighty hand at work in your life.
This month, and every month after, make it your goal to spend time with Him daily. Seek to learn some new spiritual truth each day. Find a mentor who can help guide you and disciple you. Spend time reading His Word and talking to Him in prayer and with thanksgiving in your hearts. And know that each action you take, each prayer whispered, each verse read, each life touched by your service, all of these are further developing and strengthening your faith.
Ask yourself what one thing can you add to your daily routine that will help you grow in your spiritual walk? Spend a few minutes pondering what new habits you want to start developing each day and watch your faith begin to grow stronger and more robust.
