If your family owns a car, and your home has electricity and running water in your home, then you are amongst the richest ten percent of the people in the whole world. So next time you wish you were rich, think again – YOU ALREADY ARE!
Many are blinded to this reality in America, and have no thankfulness before GOD due to their lack of this understanding. How rich we American Christians must appear to those who are far worse off.
Sadly, we often do not realize how much we have, and in fact, often we in America try and take more than we have already in order to satisfy our sinful greed. If Americans have no spare change, they believe they are poor, yet in the slums of India, there are only two water faucets for every 2857 people. Imagine modern day Americans shifting to such drastically low standards!
What can we as Americans do to help those who are in such desperate need? Proverbs 11:25 states, “The generous soul will be made rich, and he who waters will also be watered himself.”
Let us reevaluate our current state of affairs, praise GOD for HIS blessings to us, and seek ways to share our abundance with others. May GOD in CHRIST bless you all as you seek to please HIM.
