Introduction Game

This game helps people to remember everyone’s name. It is a great ice breaker for a first time meeting.

Sit people in a circle, starting from one person ask them to introduce themselves to the person sitting on their right, stating their name, pre-fixed by an adjective that starts with the same letter as their name. For example,

“Hi, I am sumptuous Susan”

Now the person sitting on their right has to introduce themselves, and the person on their left, to the person on their right. It goes something like
this:

“Hi I’d like to introduce you to sumptuous Susan, I am delightful Diane”

next person

“Hi I’d like to introduce you to sumptuous Susan and delightful Diane, I am tremendous Tammy”

next person

“Hi I’d like to introduce you to sumptuous Susan, delightful Diane and tremendous Tammy, I am friendly Fran”

etc.

A surprisingly good way of remembering people’s names. Also think about the words that people use to describe themselves – it gives you an insight into how they feel about themselves.
