Trust

By: Mandy Hughett

Psalm 31:14 But I trust in you, O LORD ; I say, “You are my God.”

Trust: A. Firm reliance on the integrity, ability, or character of a person or thing. B. Reliance on something in the future; hope.

Each day God will give me a trial to face. Whether it is something small or something big, I will have some sort of problem during each day. As will you.

This month, I wanted to talk to you about what God has been teaching me. I may have written about “Trust” in previous article, but I feel lead to share on it again.

What trials do you face? Patience? Unable to focus? Headaches? Sickness? Financial needs? There are so many ways that we are tested, I couldn’t possibly list them all. I find myself wondering, God. why would you give me such things to deal with, especially at a time like this? But then I realize, that once the trial is over, I will be stronger in my relationship with Christ. God has told us to consider it pure joy when we face trials and tribulations. But I can’t seem to do that, ever. I will spend time with God daily, but regardless, if I am going through something horrible, I am not going to consider it pure joy!

Now I think of this. Everyday I ask God to give me the opportunity to be a witness for Him -to let His light shine through me. I ask God to give me chances to change the world! But how can God trust me to do something like that if I can’t trust Him with financial needs?

I know this article is pretty spread out, not very well written, and could use some work. However, I think you all know what I am talking about and can understand what I’m saying. If not, I will summarize this in one
sentence:

How can God trust me to do the big things if I can’t trust Him to do the small things?

If we never learn to fully trust God, I don’t think we will ever reach our FULL purpose here on earth. I want to encourage you all to spend more time with God. And when problems come up, lay them aside for God to deal with. Spend time in prayer. God wants to hear from you. The more you learn to lean on God, the stronger your relationship will grow with Him. Soon, God will be able to give you bigger tasks that you don’t think you could accomplish.
