Interview with Lefthand

T4JYM: Did it take awhile to bond?

Lefthand: not really, we’ve been playing together at church for years, and have always been friends.

T4JYM: What kind of equipment do you use?

Lh: Yamaha Custom Maple Absolute Drums, Gibson, Ibanez, and PRS Guitars, Marshall stack, GK stack, seinheiser mics

T4JYM: What is the main focus in your ministry? Teens? The lost? Thehurting? Why did you decide up on this as a focus?

Lh: Primarily to the lost, and leading others into worship. This is the anointing God’s placed upon our lives.

T4JYM: What does your groups name mean?

Lh: The core meaning of the name “Left Hand” comes from Leviticus 14:15-18(NLT) emphasis on verse 15: “Then the priest will pour some of the olive oil into the palm of his own left hand…The oil remaining in the priest’s left hand will then be poured over the healed person’s head. In this way, the priest will make atonement before the Lord for the person being cleansed.”

T4JYM: Where did you come up with it?

Lh: During a church service, our pastor called us out, and anointed our left hands for supernatural healing power to flow out of us. After doing some research we found out the significance of the left hand.

T4JYM: Where do you see the band in five years? Ten? The future?

Lh: 5 years: Ministry on a nation level. 10 years: Ministry on an international level. The Future: Wherever God leads us.

T4JYM: Do you ever worry about getting caught up in the world of show biz? That success will change your group?

Lh: No, we have made a decision to set a new standard in the music ministry. We believe that God is the one that gives us success, not any man.

T4JYM: What kind of relationship do you maintain with your audiences? Do you fellowship with them? Or do you remain distant as the performer?

Lh: We maintain a personal relationship with our audience. We make a conscious effort to fellowship with all of our fans after the concert.

T4JYM: How would you describe your music style?

Lh: Cristian Rock

T4JYM: Who, or what, are your biggest musical influences?

Lh: Israel Houghton, DC Talk, POD, Dave Weckll Band

T4JYM: Are you involved in any other ministries?

LH: Youth, Praise and Worship, children’s ministry.

T4JYM: How much time do you spend practicing as a group? How much time do you practice individually?

Lh: always

T4JYM: Does the group come together for prayer at times other than concerts and ministry opportunities?

Lh: Yes

T4JYM: Have you always had a desire to be in a group like this?

Lh: Yes

T4JYM: What is the latest news on your group? Any new CD’s to be releasedsoon?

Lh: demo in the works

T4JYM: What are your favorite bible verses?

LH: Jeremiah 29:11-13, Psalm 33:3, 144:1, and Luke 9:24

T4JYM: Do you have any advice for the youth of today?

Lh: Come to all of our concerts, and make Gods word first in your life.

T4JYM: What people have influenced you (non-musicians)?

Lh: The psalmist David, and our all the leaders in our church.

T4JYM: If you were stranded on an island, and could only have fivethings, what would they be?

Lh: 1. The Bible
2. instruments
3. a house
4. a car door so if it gets hot, you can roll the window down.
