T4JYM: How long have you been a Christian?
EC: Pretty much all my life. My mother was the church organist, so we were there every time the church doors opened. God’s plan has just always made sense to me. I think my formal profession of faith came around 14 or 15.
T4JYM: Where do you see yourself in five years? Ten? The future?
EC: Most likely I will end up taking my production work to Nashville, simply because there’s more room to grow for me, more musicians, and better studios and technical folk.
T4JYM: Do you ever worry about getting caught up in the world of show biz? That success will change you?
EC: You know, the people I have met who have long-term success in the Christian music world, are down to earth, hard working people. Besides, my wife wouldn’t stand for it!!
T4JYM: What is your favorite verse in the Bible and why?
EC: Romans 1:11-12 “I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong–that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.” I think God made me to help bring out people’s musical gifts, and encourage them to use it for His Glory.
T4JYM: When did you feel called to do what you are doing in media? Have you felt God’s hand guiding you towards this all along?
EC: For me it was just a very natural leading. I always played and wrote music, and recorded it. From age six or seven I had a tape recorder that I would record shows on. It was what we did when you came to my house. As a teen, I would record band and orchestra members. We’d have parties and record music. To be honest, I never imagined God would bring me to the point that I would be producing albums for Christian artists around the nation and the world.
T4JYM: What is the message you wish to share with your audience?
EC: That we have a creative, BIG God who wants us to use our talents and gifts for His glory. That every day is a new day to begin anew with our service for Him.
