Proverbs 3:13 Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding.
We all want to be happy in life and find satisfaction in what we do. But do you realize just how easy that can actually be? It is simple. Seek wisdom, use discernment, follow God. In Psalms 1:1 we see that a happy person (also translated as blessed) is someone who rejects a wicked lifestyle and instead delights in God’s Word.
In Proverbs, Solomon uses both of the terms wisdom and understanding frequently . Wisdom is the ability to act based upon knowledge. It is a gift from God. Understanding is the ability to know something or to comprehend it. In today’s verse both terms are used and both produce happiness in the believer.
We receive wisdom from God. And we can share that same wisdom with others. Just because we speak it or act on it to share with others, it doesn’t mean it is not from God. He can and does work through us.
Personally, I find that serving others brings me great joy and happiness. My acts of service typically come in the form of teaching, so I pray that my words would be filled with God’s love and wisdom. Through my relationship with Jesus, I grow spiritually and then share what I have learned with others. These devotions are just one way I demonstrate the wisdom of God. But it takes a lot of prayer, seeking Him and His answers, and trusting Him to speak through me. And in return, I am blessed with joy and happiness.
Are you seeking wisdom? Happiness? Listen to what God has to say and look for ways you can share it with others.
