Matthew 8:16 When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick.
Today we look at the ministry of Jesus as He moved through the regions. He came to set the sick free, and casting our demons and spirits was important alongside healing the sick. He came not only to heal our spiritual wounds, but also to deliver people from the physical, as well.
We see in today’s verse that many who were demon-possessed were brought to Him. His fame was spreading and people knew that a touch from Him was all it took to bring freedom to their lives. And all we need is His touch in our own lives and we, too, can be free.
Jesus is all powerful. He doesn’t have to perform exorcisms or have help to bring healing and freedom. He is God in the flesh, His Son, and He is able and willing to move mountains in your own life. He simply needs to speak the words and the demons flee, the spirits depart, the healing washes over you. It is how He worked His earthly ministry and how He continues to work from heaven now. He came to heal ALL of the sick and free ALL of the prisoners, not just a select few. Everyone. And that includes YOU.
Do you find yourself in the midst of struggle and pain? Perhaps you have a physical ailment that is plaguing your life. Or perhaps it is a fully spiritual attack being waged against you. He is there, waiting for your to ask for His help. He is waiting with arms wide open for you to run to Him and ask for help.
What is holding you back? Is it your own doubt? Fear? A feeling that you are not worthy of His touch or His love? Not one of us is worthy, but it doesn’t matter. He came to heal and healing can be yours today, right now, if you seek Him out.
