Devotion: 1 Corinthians 2:10

Aug 27, 2025

1 Corinthians 2:10 …these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

The Bible is the source of our spiritual growth and what we know about God and faith. The Bible was written by people who had the divine inspiration of the Spirit guiding them.  They authored what the Spirit revealed and we have it today to study and learn from.

It is that same Spirit that unveils the truths within the written word to you and me today. We are told here by Paul that God reveals things to us by His Spirit. It is through the Spirit that we understand things and form knowledge. Without the Spirit, we would not understand. We would not develop. We would struggle to grow in our faith. (That’s why we can read something we have read in the Bible time and time again and say, “Why did I not notice that before?” We were not ready for the Spirit to reveal it to us until we needed it.)

The Spirit searches all things, digging and investigating to uncover the deep things of God. The Greek word for searches is the same as a professional researcher. The Spirit doesn’t search to know. He searches to determine what is appropriate to reveal to us. And His search is limitless, unlike our own capabilities. Our minds are not capable of understanding the deep things of God. But the Spirit can and He does, revealing the perfect message for us at the perfect time in our life.

How wonderful is our God to know the perfect thing we need to hear at just the moment we need to hear it? We have a perfectly curated, tailored message just for us.

Are you listening or are you muting the message He has for you today? It is time to open your hearts and minds to what God has for you today.
