Review:
So many emotions in one book! I was honestly overwhelmed at the emotions that just kept coming, one after another (though this could be because of the recent death of my father due to cancer and the grieving process – Emery’s mom having cancer in the book and the impending end). But it was a wonderful story. It wasn’t my typical preferred genre and I did struggle to get into the story at first. But as with all of the other books that I struggle to get into, once I was invested I was all in and wanted to see what would happen. And I did find it to be a great story. It stuck with me after each reading, lingering in my mind as I pondered what I had read and tried to predict what would happen next. The love story unfolded naturally and flowed smoothly within the overall book plot. I loved the elements of romance, emotions, forgiveness, and so much more. I though Hauck did an excellent job of creating some complex characters, yet made them relatable and believable, being totally realistic in design. I loved how she made each chapter switch between Caleb and Emery, showing both of their perspectives and carrying the story forward. It is definitely a great summertime read (that is perfect any time of the year!) and the characters are memorable and relatable. Thank you Rachel Hauck for such a good story. Can’t wait to see what comes next!
