Review:
This is the third book in the Gossamer Falls series and is not a disappointment. Though I would have loved to see the series continue, I understand that there are new characters, new settings, new experiences just waiting to be shared. Author Lynn H. Blackburn does such an amazing job of weaving together worlds that come to life before your eyes with characters that take up residence in your heads and hearts. And this story was no different! It was nice to see the story of Bronwyn and Mo finally get told and it was such a joy to read. I am sad to see it has ended now that these characters’ story has been told but am ready for the next series to pick up where this one leaves off – in the near vicinity to Gossamer Falls (I wouldn’t be surprised to see cameos from the various GF community pop up in the next series!). Though this is book 3 in a 3-book series, you can read it as a standalone. So don’t worry if this is your first book from Blackburn and the GF series – you’ll find it readable and easy to follow despite not having the background of the previous two books. From the start of this book, you are pulled into the story with a mystery. You see family secrets are at play and there is a level of dysfunction that seems to permeate things. I love the fact that Bronwyn has to call on her first love for help with this mystery, despite their past entanglements. It is a wonderful second-chance-at-love type of story and you find yourself wanting them to get together and to move on from the past. While the romance develops within the events of the mystery that has brought them together, there is a thrilling hold-on-to-your-hats ride that whips you from one heartbeat to another. I loved the thrill of the story and the suspense that had me nibbling my nails as I read. Blackburn has created a true treat with this final story in the series, and I loved every heart pounding moment of it. Love when writing unfolds like that! This is a must read if you like suspense and thrill rides.
