Nahum 1:7 The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him.
Today we are hopping to the book of Nahum, which is probably not one you have spent much time in. But there are great promises within this Old Testament book , including today’s verse. The descriptive name we get for God today is Refuge.
A refuge is something that provides shelter from danger, pursuit, or trouble. We often hear of refugees fleeing persecution or war in their home countries. People often go to embassies in foreign countries when they need refuge. We also have special homes and organizations for battered women. These are just a few examples of a refugee.
But we are looking at God as our Refuge in times of trouble. He is the refuge to which we should run. He is there waiting with arms wide open. He knows the struggles you face. He is ready to be your stronghold as you stand against the troubles. And He is there to protect you and shelter you from the storms of life.
Turn to Him today and trust Him to cover you with His protection. He is your refuge, your shelter, your hiding place. Do you trust Him?
