James 2:17 In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
As a believer, faith does not exist in a vacuum. It is not alone. It is always accompanied by something. It may be love, joy, peace, hope, or any other positive thing we experience. But it is also accompanied by action.
What does that mean?
Simply put, if we want to see growth, we have to DO something. That is true of fitness, dieting, budgeting, house cleaning, and anything else we work on. If we want to see change, there must be action.
And the same is true of our faith. If we want to see our faith growing, we need to be doing something about it. You can’t learn more about God if you never read your Bible or attend church. You can’t learn to trust Him if you never talk to Him or learn to hear His replies. Our faith grows when we actively seek Him.
Know what else happens? As our faith grows, we start living differently and loving others more. We start serving others, helping them, praying for them, being there when they need us… all actions. Our faith not only grows, but is demonstrated by the ways we live our life and interact with others.
Are you putting your faith in action? Consider one way in how you can grow in your faith today and one way you can love someone else. Then do it.
